Um filme Live Action de Neon Genesis Evangelion já tinha sido especulado a tempos atrás. O que parecia estar emperrando era que, aparentemente, a Gainax tinha voltado atrás na decisão de conceder os direitos da produção à ADV Films (empresa detentora dos direitos da Série TV nos Eua) (mais informações aqui!). Anos se passaram sem nenhuma nova informação até alguns dias atrás.

De acordo com a Transformers News Center, Michael Bay foi perguntando por jornalistas se ele queria dirigir alguma outra franquia depois de Transformers e das Tartarugas Ninjas. Michael Bay respondeu dizendo: “Eu não sei se vocês estão familiarizados com “Evangelion” mas esse é um filme que quero dirigir”.

Quando perguntando pelo mesmo jornalista se ele já estaria trabalhando em um Live Action de Neon Genesis Evangelion, ele só respondeu com um sorriso.

A Evangelion Live Action Movie had been speculated long years ago. What seemed to be blocking that was apparently Gainax had gone back on the decision to grant the rights to  ADV Films (the company holds the rights of the TV Series in Usa). Years passed with no new information until a few days ago.
According to Transformers News Center, Michael Bay was asked by reporters if he wanted to direct some other franchise after Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Michael Bay replied saying: “I do not know if you are familiar with “Evangelion” but this is a movie I want to direct.”
When asked by the same reporter if he was already working on a Live Action Neon Genesis Evangelion, he only replied with a smile.
