Em dezembro de 2014, foi anunciado no site oficial de Evangelion o lançamento da remasterização em HD da serie TV de Neon Genesis Evangelion e mais os dois filmes de conclusão: Death & Rebirth e The End of Evangelion juntamente com uma série de extras.

No início de fevereiro de 2015, finalmente, o site foi atualizado com a data de lançamento, as versões Bluray e DVD chegam as lojas japonesas em 26/08/2015. A Bluray custando 38.000 Ienes e a DVD 18.000 Ienes.

O Evangelion BD-Box possui 9 discos e um artbook especial. Todo o material (série, filmes e extras) tem um total de 900 minutos.

A versão DVD, chamada Archives of Evangelion vira com 8 discos e terá a versão da série exibida na TV junto com Death & Rebirth.

Last December, plans were announced to release Neon Genesis Evangelion in an HD remastered Blu-ray box sets along with an Archives of Evangelion: Neon Genesis Evangelion Broadcast version DVD-box this summer, with original character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto providing art. This weekend, the release information was posted, listing that the two versions are due out in Japan on August 26th at 38,000 Yen for the Blu-rays and 18,000yen for the DVDs.

The Evangelion BD-Box consists of 9 discs and a booklet in special packaging. The official runtime is 900 minutes plus bonus footage.
