Este ano se comemora o 20º aniversário da primeira transmissão de Neon Genesis Evangelion . Além disso, é também o 40º aniversário da Sanyo Shinkansen, famosa empresa de tecnologia ferroviária de alta velocidade.

Uma colaboração surpreendente surgiu a partir destes dois eventos comemorativos. Começou, em julho, o “Shinkansen: Evangelion Project”. O “500 Type Eva”, um trem com um design especial associado com a série, passará a operar na linha Sanyo Shinkansen. O designer mecânico de Evangelion, Ikuto Yamashita, está trabalhando no projeto de desenvolvimento do “500 Type Eva” e Hideaki Anno supervisionou.

Além disso, não é só o exterior que retrata o mundo de Evangelion . O interior do trem também será totalmente inspirado em Eva. O projeto acontecerá entre o Outono deste ano a março de 2017. Um site especial já foi anunciado, com comentários de Hideaki Anno e Ikuto Yamashita.

Produtos comemorativos estarão à venda durante a viagem e eventos estão programados durante o período do projeto. Além disso, os membros da J-West Net podem visualizar vídeos originais e baixar papéis de parede no site.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the first broadcast of Neon Genesis Evangelion. In addition, it is also the 40th anniversary of the Sanyo Shinkansen, which has become a world leader in high speed rail technology over the past few decades.

A surprising collaboration has come about from these two commemorative events. From July, the “Shinkansen: Evangelion Project” began. The “500 Type Eva,” a train with a special design associated with the series, will run on the Sanyo Shinkansen Line for the duration of the period.

Mechanical designer Ikuto Yamashita is working on the design of the “500 Type Eva,” Hideaki Anno, essential to the Evangelion franchise, naturally supervised the project to realise the design.

In addition, it’s not just the exterior that depicts the world of Evangelion. The interior will also be Eva-inspired. We can’t wait to hear the further details!

The project will run between autumn of this year to March 2017. A special website has already been announced, featuring comments by Hideaki Anno and Ikuto Yamashita.
