Foi anunciado a alguns meses a parceria entre Evangelion e a empresa de tecnologia ferroviária Sanyo Shinkansen. Ambas comemorando aniversário de 20 e 40 anos respectivamente. O “500 Type Eva”, um trem com um design especial associado com a série, iria operar na linha Sanyo Shinkansen. O designer mecânico de Evangelion, Ikuto Yamashita, trabalhou no projeto de desenvolvimento do “500 Type Eva” e Hideaki Anno supervisionou.
Recentemente foi lançado um video mostrando o interior do trem que começará a operar no dia 07 de Novembro até março de 2017, confira abaixo:
It was announced a few months the partnership between Evangelion and railway engineering company Sanyo Shinkansen. Both celebrating 20th birthday and 40 years old respectively.
