A Dark Horse Comics, editora de quadrinhos norte-americana, uma das maiores do mercado “independente” que se opõe às majoritárias Marvel Comics e DC Comics, anunciou lançamento para Maio de 2017 de um novo mangá de Evangelion, chamado “NEON GENESIS EVANGELION: THE LEGEND OF PIKO PIKO MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS”.
O mangá teve inicio no Japão em 2014 e até a presente data existem 3 volumes lançados.
A história consiste em “invasores misteriosos estão ameaçando a Terra … então recrute um grupo de crianças de elite em idade escola para jogar videogames que secretamente irá treiná-los para a luta real que está por vir! Este plano parece familiar? Bem, seria melhor começar um novo plano, porque as crianças de elite em idade escolar são Shinji, Rei, Asuka, e Kaworu, e eles estão muito ocupados jogando os jogos de sempre do que entrar no maldito robô!”
