O diretor de animação de Evangelion, Takeshi Honda, deu uma entrevista para o site UK Anime Network no final de outubro falando sobre o último filme de Rebuild of Evangelion:
“Estamos realmente trabalhando no novo filme Evangelion agora” comentou Takeshi, “Estamos trabalhando duro e ele vai sair eventualmente, por isso, obrigado por toda a sua paciência – por favor, continue a ser paciente, porque vai ser o último episódio.”
Em outro ponto da entrevista, ele expressou sua esperança de que Evangelion acabará corretamente antes de se aposentar, porque desenhar está ficando fisicamente mais difícil à medida que envelhece.

Evangelion animation director Takeshi Honda gave an interview to the UK Anime Network website in late October talking about the latest Rebuild of Evangelion movie:
“We are working hard and he will leave eventually, so thank you for all your patience – please continue to be patient, because it will be the last episode.”
At another point in the interview, he expressed his hope that Evangelion ended properly before retiring, because drawing is becoming physically more difficult as he ages.
