De 23 a 31 de Outubro aconteceu, no Japão, o 27ª Festival Internacional de Cinema de Tokyo, o trabalho central do evento foi “O Mundo de Hideaki Anno”, foram expostas cerca de 50 obras do criador de Evangelion.
O Japan Times, um jornal local, entrevistou Anno sobre o evento, seu talento quanto a animação, sua falta de confiança durante a Guerra Fria e o andamento de Evangelion, confira o trecho final da entrevista:
Eu decidi, estrategicamente, terminar a entrevista com uma pergunta sobre o quarto e último filme da nova série “Evangelion”, uma pergunta que o representante do Festival me avisou que Anno não iria responder. Por que não tentar?
“Alguma novidade sobre quando ‘Evangelion 4’ começará a ser produzido?” Eu perguntei.
“Sem comentários”, Anno responde em Inglês e a sala toda, incluindo Anno, explode em gargalhadas.
